Keynote Speaker Matthew Breay Bolton

“Dreaming of the Green World: Pursuing Environmental Justice through Nuclear Disarmament”

Matthew Breay Bolton teaches International Relations and Environmental Studies at Pace University, New York City, where he also directs the Coastal and Ocean Studies program. He's worked for more than 20 years with UN and NGO efforts addressing the humanitarian impacts of weapons. He was part of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) team awarded the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize. During the negotiations of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, he worked with ICAN to ensure the inclusion of provisions on assistance to victims, remediation of contaminated environments and recognition of the disproportionate impact on Indigenous Peoples. In 2023, City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams appointed him to NYC’s Nuclear Weapons Free Zone Advisory Committee.

Parking: There are very limited spots in the church lot. Please reserve them for members with mobility issues. There are also paid parking lots on So. Fullerton and The Crescent within 2 blocks of the church. Limited, on-street parking is available.
